Flora Power

Posted by FeistyCat at 03:13 0 comments

Its summer and one of the hot trends this season are floral prints. Floral prints can look chic if they are worn the correct way if they are not worn the correct way the whole ensemble tends to look babyish. So here are some tips:

  1. Choose a Print

With so many types of floral prints to choose from, it’s important to choose a pattern that works with your personal taste and style. Flower designs can range from dainty and delicate to big and bold.
If you prefer styles that are simple and sophisticated, try looking for a print that features small, miniature flowers. A finer print is not only appropriate for the office and work place, but is a great way to bring in a feminine touch. If you're the type to rock statement patterns, a print featuring larger flowers will work best for you. Look for bright colors, vibrant designs and eye-catching details.
  2. Use the Same Color Palette

Once you chosen a floral print, wear clothing in coordinating colors to create a cohesive look. This method is also a good way to put together multiple outfits using the same item. Pay attention to pattern's colors, choose one or two, then work around your choices.
  3. Use Accessories

Wearing accessories is one the most tried and true ways of wearing any kind of pattern, and the same can certainly be said for floral prints. Even just one accessory is enough to brighten up an otherwise plain outfit. Larger items such as tote bags, hats and scarves can add some major color to a look, while jewelry and belts can bring in a light dose of floral fun.
  4. With Neutral Colors
Using neutrals is another styling option to use when you aren’t wearing colors found in the actual print. It's also a good "safety" styling method when you aren't quite sure what to wear, but would like to add florals to your ensemble.
Wedges
  1. With Menswear Inspired Clothing

Styling floral pieces with menswear inspired clothing is a fool proof way of looking chic yet fun. Think blazers, straight leg pants and crisp button ups. This will prevent your outfit from looking too juvenile, and instead create a classy, mature look.
  2. With Heels

Pairing flower prints with your favorite style of heels are a great way to wear floral with sophistication. Kitten heels and wedges are both ideal options, as these types of heels are modest enough to be worn in both office and party settings. High heels and boots also look especially flattering with floral prints, especially if you're going for a sultrier yet fun look.

Neon Color Blocking

Posted by FeistyCat at 03:02 0 comments
The neons are sooo in fashion these days and color blocking is the hot trend when it comes to wearing neons. But sometimes most ladies don’t know how to color block and they end up looking like a clown so to save you from these happenings I’ll be giving you people some tips and trick.

  1. Start With Two Colors

The first step to colorblocking is choosing a color palette. If you've never colorblocked an outfit before, start off with two colors -- a neutral and a bright. Neutral shades will allow you to create a palette that you feel most comfortable with. These colors include black, gray, white and taupe, which work best with the bolds and brights commonly used in colorblocking. Ivory and beige are considered to be neutral as well.

Choose a bright color like fuchsia, kelly green, cobalt blue, purple or orange. A neon would be a "highlighter" version of a color, such as neon pink, green or yellow. You can also opt for jewel tones if you feel that these shades will be more in your comfort zone. Jewel tones include deeper, richer colors such as eggplant purple and maroon.
  2. Add a Third or Fourth Color

While you can work with just two colors, you can take it up a notch and add one or two more colors to your palette. One way to do this is to choose a color that's a different hue of your non-neutral shade. For example, if you're wearing white and orange, try adding a coral piece. If you chose fuchsia, you can bring in a shade of purple or pink. Bright blue works well with navy or baby blue. By choosing a different hue of a color you're already using, you'll create a cohesive look.
  3. Use Accessories

When it comes to colorblocking an outfit, accessories are an absolute must. With the right belt or clutch, you can bring your entire look together. After choosing your color palette, select a few accessories to compliment the outfit. They can be one of the colors already in your palette, or an entirely new color that coordinates with what you've already chosen. For instance: a bright blue dress with a black blazer would work well with a turquoise clutch and turquoise heels. STAY AWAY FROM ACCESSORIES THAT ARE EMBELLISHED AND DETAILED. After all, colorblocking is all about stylish simplicity.
  4. Stay Away From Prints Colorblocking is exactly what it sounds like -- blocks of color. Prints aren't the best option for this styling method, as they would take away from the "blocked" visual. Stick to clothing, accessories and shoes in solid colors, in order to fully achieve that colorblocking effect.
  5.  Wear Separates

Colorblocking an outfit is easiest when you wear separates. Wearing a skirt and a shirt instead of adress will give you a chance to colorblock with ease. If you would rather wear a dress, top it off with a blazer or cardigan, or wear a pair of tights. Using several pieces of clothing and accessories will let designate one a color to each piece, creating the colorblocked look.

The Bling Mood

Posted by FeistyCat at 04:14 0 comments
Whenever we wear clothes in that metallic shimmer, we are often confused about our accessories, makeup, hair and what not. The main fact: Most of us are not able to balance our look.

  1. Balance: Balancing your look is important. You don’t want to be an attention grabber by wearing full shimmer. People may assume you to be a tube-light in the dark. This look is not about delicacy but if you want to keep it mild, balance with nude pastels and let the shimmer shine through. Please do wear one bling piece at a time for the sake of your eyes or you may end up hurting your eyes with too much gaudiness.
  2. Best option “LAYER”: If you don’t want to shine too much then opt layers. Sheer is a big trend for Spring-Summer 2012, so throw on a cool chiffon shrug or a light jacket and let the colors come out.
  3. Accessories: If bling on your clothes does not comfort you then let your hands, wrist or feet shine. You can wear a metallic choker, metallic pumps, metallic cuff, metallic layered up neck pieces or an adorable anklet can do wonders.
  4. Make up: metallic make up is super cool! But remember metal and not glitter. Shimmer on your cheeks, metallic eye shadows, metallic loose powder or shiny eyeliners or smoky eyes are great. For the lips you can use a red, candy pink color. For hair you can go messy, vintage, straight, waves anything.

Jovial In a Jumpsuit

Posted by FeistyCat at 04:03 0 comments
Romper Suit
Jumpsuits are famous since old times. At that time, they were known pantsuits. But now the matter is totally different. There are different names for different length of them. For example: short style is called romper, knee length or shorts style is known as playsuits (which are my fav) and the full length ones are known as jumpsuits with which we are all familiar.

If you are slim, then jumpsuits in any color, pattern, size or shape will suit you. But remember the top portion of your jumpsuit should be loose. Single shoulder and off- shoulder styles look good on slim girls. People with short height should wear a jumpsuit with a high waist. It makes your legs look long.

Jumpsuits
If you are trying on jumpsuits for the first time, then go for a solid color/single color to be on the safe side. If you are low on confidence then wear high heels. It gives you a confident and a sleek look.
With jumpsuits, any kind of footwear looks splendid. You can go for flip- flops, gladiators, wedges since they are the hot favorite this season.

Celeb look:

My all time fav: Kim Kardashian. I love her tan colored jump suit, her clutch, her red nails and gladiator shoes. She is a STUNNER!!

Travel Trendy

So, it’s the holiday season. Happy Summer Holidays to all Fashionistas. Most of you may be out or may be planning for a short break. Today I’m going to tell you on how to travel chic on your holidays.

Clothing: We all love our skinny jeans and our body-con dresses. But here we are going to travel for endless hours on a flight so think COMFORT. You can sport a full length tight with a loose tee or a shirt. Please avoid a velour tracksuit. Since it is summer, you can team it up with a trendy belt, a cute scarf/ stole or a trendy summer blazer.
Cheryl Cole

Shoes: Pumps are a hot favorite this season but use them for night- outs or any other event. Also don’t wear your sexy six inches since airports and other stations require a lot of walking. You can sport ballerinas, flip flops, wedges with not too much heels (go for one- two inch ones) or even gladiators.

Accessories: You can’t fit all your passports, tickets and other little yet important things in a small and a cute clutch. Here you’ve got to think SPACIOUS yet trendy. If you can’t bag a Hermes Birkin tote then any spacious shoulder bag or hobo will do. Always travel with a large bag for all those important medicines, creams and sanitizers. Always carry a stole with you whether its summer or winter. You can drape it around your neck as a cute scarf. It’s always better to be warm and safe than to be cold and sorry.

Make up: Go natural. There is no need to look like a Barbie doll. Keep your face clean (at these times facial wipes are a best friend) and hair simple. If you have an important event right after landing then use travel kits. You can do it on the flight just before landing.

Celeb look:
Kim Kardashian

Hello Neon!!

Posted by FeistyCat at 03:45 0 comments
If you are bored of classic makeup or you love experimenting (like me) then neon make up is waiting for you.
Doing neon can sometimes be very intimidating. So here are some tips and tricks to pull up the neon makeup.

You can keep the neon trend very simple by adding a pop of color to your lips or adding a colored liner to your eyes. You can keep the rest of your face natural and then have one element of color on the face.
You can wear this trend at any time of the day. Most ladies like to get more creative and colorful with their make-up in the evening or when attending events or functions. You can rock this trend with the outfit that you are wearing. For instance if you are wearing blue, you can complement it with some blue eye shadow. If you are feeling really adventurous you can put on a magenta lipstick too.

Celeb Look:

Katy Perry

Katy Perry: The only celebrity to do her neon make up absolutely stunning!!

My Polyvore Dedication: I really did put a great effort for you guys so do check this set out Neon Color Blocking

Experiment, keep your make up remover handy but remember,

Want to Skate??

Posted by FeistyCat at 03:14 0 comments
Love the Prints!!
The hot trend is the skater dress. Let’s forget those body- hugging dresses. Skater dress is all about playful hemlines. The silhouette is feminine and flirty. Those who have great waist, these dresses are a million dollar gift for them. It helps in highlighting those sexy curves :).
This dress can be worn by anyone. But please 30+ people, this is not for you. Whatever be your body type, you’re surely going to get a lot of compliments.

Skater dresses are really versatile.
For a romantic look go for pastel colors and spring prints. This style can take on an edgy interpretation with fitted silhouettes and dark color schemes. The skater dress is a sassy way to make a statement while showing off your figure. Keep the make up fresh and dewy. For accessories you can go for chunky pieces depending on the cut and the work value of your dress. Since the waist is clinched and the rest of the dress is flowy, you can highlight your waist with a single color belt. You can either go for pumps or for peep toe-shoes.

Celeb look:

Love Frankie's look. She's wearing a red skater dress with a black belt. She's holding a black clutch bag with red border. Fabulous black shoes and deep maroon nails. She has got it all. ♥

My Polyvore Dedication: The dress looks so fabulous so a set with it for you guys:Wanna Skate??

Go out, style up, show your figure but remember,
