Recommendations

Posted by FeistyCat at 03:07 0 comments

This is a new feature in my blog. I’ll be doing them based what I love at that moment. Basically it is just like product reviews but I’ll be doing “Recommendations” on beauty products, food and almost even random stuff.

So lets start today’s recommendation is for those girls who are choc-aholic just like me and have a tendency to have chocolates at almost all time.

Last Friday after coming back from school, my cousin and me went to the grocery store to buy our supplies and a cute brown colored biscuit-pack caught my interest. It was “Sunfeast Dark fantasy Choco Fills”. I had seen the commercial ad on television and I wanted to try it out. So I put it in the cart because it just cost me INR 30.

Pros:

·        The name suggests ‘choco fills’ and yes it is filled with melted chocolate. Just take a bite and you’ll see the choc in it. It tastes like heavenly bliss.
·        It comes in a super-cute packaging.
·        Affordable.

Cons:
It had six but I ate one
  • In that pack you just have six cookies all packed in a different packet.

I would recommend it because as mentioned earlier it is complete bliss.

Try it out, my next recommendation will be on a face-wash but remember,

Ombre Nails

After the neon trend, ombre is a huge hit. I learnt this nail tutorial from Pinterest. It is really simple and once you gather your items, this nail tutorial can be done in just 5 minutes.

Items required:
  • Nail colors of your choice. (It would be best if you chose in a gradient way.)
  • A small bowl of water (not in pic)
  • Small piece of foam (it could be a piece of your old makeup foam; not in pic)
  • Cotton swabs

Here is the tutorial: (Steps after pictures)
Step 2

Step 3

    The Result
    1. Prepare your nails. Remove any old nail polish. Shape your nails. Apply base coat.
    2. While the base coat is drying, take the foam and soak it in water (to help it holding the nail paint). After soaking the foam, press out the extra water, just make sure it’s lightly damp.
    3. On your foam, in the gradient series paint thin strips of your nail colors.
    4. Now just press the foam on your nails and you will see that the colors come on your nails in an ombre way.
    5. Let it dry. Soak your cotton swabs in nail polish remover and wipe out the sides. Apply top coat and you’re done.
I did mine in a hurry so it is not that clean.

Fishtail braids

Posted by FeistyCat at 02:47 0 comments

Hey Fashionistas! This is my first hair tutorial. Hope you like it.
As said earlier, braids are becoming popular day by day. One of my favorite braids is a fishtail braid. You may have seen a lot of celebrities sporting fishtail braids. This braid looks hard but once you know how to do it then it’s just a work of 5minutes.

For a messier braid, just go through your hair with your finger and start. But for a cleaner braid, comb your hair nicely and get rid of all tangles and then start.

This illustration will tell you how to do make a fishtail braid (I learnt by this pic):

Fishtail braid on my hair

If you still did not understand then let me explain how to do it:
Step1: Separate your hair into two sections lets name them A and B.
Step2: Take a small, thin strand of hair from section A and merge it with section B.
Step3: Again take a thin strand from section B and merge it with section A.
Step4: Repeat Step2 and Step3 until the braid is complete.
Step5 (optional): Use a hair spray to keep the braid in place and you’re done.

Plait your hair but remember,

Accent Nails

I guess accent nails were made popular by Kaley Cuoco after I saw her look at the awards show. But whoever made it popular doesn’t matter. Right now, I am getting crazy about them. Accent nails is basically painting the four fingers of your nails in one color and the other one in any other color. I did accent nails even on my toes..

What’s in the Monsoon bag?

Posted by FeistyCat at 03:08 0 comments

If you want a big bag, I always advise for a tote bag. It’s big, cute and durable. For monsoons, opt for water-proof bags or you may end up in getting all your things soaked.
transparent bags
Or for a statement, you can use acrylic and transparent bags, they are water-proof and cool.

So, things to keep in your bag are (in random order):
  1. Sanitizers
  2. Facial Wipes
  3. Band-Aids/Cotton
  4. Important Keys
  5. Mints (You don’t want bad breath)
  6. Wallet (To store money in it)
  7. Cell phone/Chargers/ Headphones
  8. Umbrella
  9. Makeup Bag (I always prefer a different pouch to store make-up related stuff). So the things you can keep in it are eyeliners, mascara, lip-balms/lip-gloss, safety pins, bobby pins, kohl, comb, hair elastics, Travel size face-wash, moisturizer and sunscreen, sanitary pads (to keep it handy),etc.
  10. Deodorant
  11. Pens/ Small Notepad
  12. cute make-up bag
  13. An extra pair of clothes (Optional)

So these are some important stuff you can keep in your bag.

Enjoy, but remember,

Some tips on caring for your skin during the rainy season:
Nycil Talc
drink water
  1. To avoid fungal infection- Bath regularly with soap, Use talcum powder after bath and maintain a good hygiene. Always try to keep your skin dry.
  2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water. It helps in flushing out toxins and it cleanses your skin pores.
  3. Clean your skin regularly. Follow it up with a toner. ALWAYS use non-alcoholic toners. And then moisturize.
  4. Exfoliate. Use scrubs to get rid of dead cells from the skin.
  5. Use sunscreen/sun-block regularly. Use a good sunscreen/sun-block with a high SPF factor.
  6. Avoid oily skin products. Opt for mousse-like products.
  7. Avoid heavy make-up since it may block pores, causing pimples or rash.
  8. Always keep your hair clean.
  9. People with sensitive skin should avoid prolonged use of artificial jewellery.
  10. eat veggies
  11. Eat plenty of fruits and add green, leafy vegetables in your diet.
