Neutrals with Formals work well |
Try neutrals with texture: The good thing about greys and whites is that they highlight varying textures. We're all for playing with interesting weaves, stitches and seam details. Neutrals are pious colours, gentle and forever adapting, which makes experimenting fun.
Add the pop: If you go totally neutral and add a radically different colour in a detail or an accessory or pair it with another colour, the resultant 'pop' makes for a major style statement. Steer clear of neons with white or black to avoid the jarring, and start with a single colour per outfit.
Even a simple neckpiece can add the glam quotient |
Pair neutrals together: Take a mini risk. When an LBD is layered under a brown leather jacket or a soft drape and worn with tights and boots, you're doing it right. Throwing seemingly opposite neutrals will result in a rather interesting potion!
Add details: Look for wonderful neutral jackets with contrasting trims and linings. Tan blazers or trenches look extra appealing with bold dark trims, black or tortoise shell buttons, buckles and dramatic linings. It's a great way to turn heads with a simple colour.
Go skinny: Neutral pants tend to have you look a tad wider than you'd probably like to. Try a leaner silhouette to minimise the bulk. Skinnies and well detailed breeches look absolutely divine and will make you look slimmer, taller, and on-trend.
