After Hollywood,
peplum trend has become popular in our very own Bollywood.
From Katrina to Bipasha to Deepika and so on. On the first
look, this trend might look like a severe and intimidating trend but if you
work it out well you can rock it. A well
peplum flatters on curvaceous women (remember Kim Kardashian and Beyonce).
Some do’s and don’ts of the trend:
- Women who are proud of their narrow waist but are conscious of their lower stomach bulge can seek peplum since it covers those flaws. On the other hand, it accentuates the curves on a straight figure.
- The waist ruffle creates proportion in the body. When styled with a slim-fit shirt or even a simple cami, it can make you stand out in crowd. There a peplum skirts that are suited to different body types. Just remember, dress according to your shape.
- Short peplum dresses give an appearance of long legs. Peplum pencil skirts that reach the knee or the narrow part of your leg can be worn by tall or average height women. For footwear, please opt for fun pumps or peep toes and avoid boots.
- If you think peplum might look awkward on you, you can start wearing a peplum jacket or a top. If peplum dresses are over your budget, you can team them up with a peplum top and a pencil skirt.
- To be on the safe side, use solid colors.
- It should not be worn with loose, flowing maxi skirts or a pair of baggy jeans!
Celeb look: Deepika Padukone looks stunning in this peplum dress. I love the lace detailing and her red pout. It adds to all the charm of this look.
